| RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS COME SEE WHAT WE'RE ABOUT TUESDAYS at 7:00 PM, Library The RCIA is an ongoing process for any person interested in becoming a full and active member of the Catholic Church. The program is specifically designed for non-Catholics wishing to become Catholic and for Catholic adults who have not received the sacraments of Eucharist, Reconciliation or Confirmation or for Catholics who have been away from the faith for some time. Adults participate in a process of faith development coordinated by a team of parishioners. Weekly gatherings held on Tuesdays at 7:00 P.M. beginning the end of September through May create a sense of community and a forum for discussion and exploration of many of our beliefs. Catechumens are received into the Church at the Easter Vigil. Active Catholics willing to share their faith with others are invited to join our R.C.I.A. Team. For more information contact the rectory. What are the benefits of the R.C.I.A. Process? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults can help to: 1. Build community by establishing a bond between newcomers and the faith community. 2. Increase understanding of the teachings of the Gospels and the Church. 3. Deepen responsibility of church members to spread their faith as Jesus commanded. 4. Renew the commitment of church members to live out their baptismal mission. 5. Inspire reflection on the mystery on Christ’s sacrifice for the salvation of the faithful. RCIA Easter Vigil 2004 Click a picture to see a larger view. | ||||
